apple-pie cake

Here is the direct link for: Apple-Pie Cake.

I had a dozen older apples that nobody was going to eat, not ever. This recipe really came in handy!

The recipe for a quick and easy crumb-like cake with lots of thinly sliced apples comes from Martha Stewert's website. The question is: Is it a cake? Or is it a pie? Martha says, "It's actually a cross between a pie and a fruit crisp: The brown-sugar crumb mixture serves as the crust as well as the topping".

It really does taste like a fancy version of apple crisp. We had it for dinner tonight with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely delicious, very buttery crust and the apples were tender. I definitely prefer this over a piece of traditional apple pie any day! No need to ever make apple crisp again either. This tops the cake!

The red pin award for delicious and beautiful presentation!

I will make this again and again and again! A great cake for using all those tart Autumn apples.

Happy pinning!
